Buddha Jayanti, also known as Buddha Purnima, celebrates the birthday of Lord Buddha. It also commemorates his enlightenment and death. It's the most sacred Buddhist festival.

The celebration began with lighting of ceremonial lamp and chanting of Budh vandana by nuns of Drikung Kagya Samtemling Nunnery, which was followed by a 'Dhaama Geet' performance by school students. Besides, traditional Tibetan 'Snow Lion Dance' performance from Manduwala was appreciated by one and all.

Dhammapratishtha.org also offering a platform to academicians, Buddhist scholars, social activists and organizations to interact with each other on key issues relating to Buddhism, up-liftment of downtrodden and socially depressed class in India.
